A podcast about videogames

Episode 20: Cheggers goes in, sweets come out

We’ve climbed all the way up to the 20th floor! We’re shattered. Listen to us trying to catch our breath, and: coming to blows over Lego Jurassic World of all things, looking back to the time when Mark accidentally shaped official Wario lore, and listening to some “authentic” messages from celebrities. Plus: SPACE ARK.

  1. That Yoshi impersonation was bordering on the illegal.

As for dinosaur games, I’m going with Turok 2. I still remember the cheat ‘BEWAREOBLIVIONISATHAND’ that actually makes the game playable, as it was incredibly difficult. It may have been foggier than a night out in Silent Hill, but it had some of the best weapons EVER in videogame history and deserves a place on the Ark, even if the 95% N64 Magazine gave it was a tad over the top.

  2. Speaking of Yoshi impersonations, does Yoshi count as a dinosaur for the purposes of next week’s ark?

Really enjoying the old writing bits. That NGamer (etc. etc.) humour shining through in the Wario’s Warehouse bit there.

Oh, and I reckon Alan clinches it.

    • You bet that little scamp counts! Not that scorched velociraptor from the Super Mario Bros movie though.

      • Excellent. In that case, I’m going to vote for Yoshi’s Woolly World (and you can sling any Yoshi game between that and the original Yoshi’s Island into the lava). The spirit of the original, brought into the 21st century without completely defaecating on it; but everything is made of the fluffiest wool you ever saw, and you can play as cow-Yoshi. COW-YOSHI.
